Classic ASP AJAX

Yes indeed, even I, the lonely Classic ASP developer, have joined the whole AJAX revolution of web development.

I've encountered plenty of companies who are still using Classic ASP, but what to implement some AJAX effects into their website.

I'm not sure who's idea it was to first implement the the xmlhttpserver object in javascript to request an ASP page containing script to output text, but God bless em!

A few javascript functions on the requesting page, and then a server side page to fetch the response.....and low and behold! The paged has been ajaxed!

Classic ASP may be old and not up to date, but you can still do just about everything that the newer technologies can do. There is no law out there saying that you can't.

And the great thing about it is that there are so many free open-source AJAX toolkits out there (OpenRico being my favorite) that really speed things up in terms of time-to-implement new features.
